Boy! Am I homesick! I was born in Boston, MA, but brought up in Dartmouth by my grandmother. I haven't been "home" in about 5 years. My mother's family are all Smileys & Balcombs. I have many fond memories of summering at Smiley's Point and Port Dufferin. I'm still longing for it. I would love to hear from anyone from that area!

Unfortunatly, it seems like everyone thinks their shacks are mansions. Soooooooo, if anyone has a house that is not falling apart/leaking/caving in or has been flooded, for under $100,000, PLEASE email me.

Thanks!!!

I hope to be a part time Musquodoboit resident soon. I can not even imagine how beautiful it must be in the summer.

Hello. My name is Yvonne Daley. I'm looking for information on my mother and grandparents. My grandfather was James Doucette and my grandmother was Honora (Nora) Connelly (sp?) Doucette. My mother was Sarah. Her sisters were Peggy (Mary Margaret) and Loretta and her brothers were John, Raymond Douglas and James. My mother grew up in Glace Bay until about 1928 when she imigrated to Boston.

My grandfather owned a store in Glace Bay for a while and was quite well known. Story has it that he once walked across Canada, had a pet peregrine falcon and worked for United Fruit, traveling the world. Some of his relatives worked in the mines, as did my uncles when they were young men.

I'd like to learn more about both my grandfather and grandmother's families. I'd love to have a geneology done and would pay a standard fee, if there is a person or service who does that. I'm a journalist and professor who lives in Vermont and San Francisco.

Thanks for your time,
Yvonne Daley
