Hi..!
I am a retired man living on Vancouver Island, BC.
I am seriously thinking of moving to Nova Scotia next spring and therefor would like to correspond by email with someone living in between Clam Hbr and Canso who would have the time to correspond with me by email. The main purpose would be to inquire on many subjets from local residents.
I am originally from Quebec, and I am bilingual.

Thanking You, I remain,
Claude LaMarche

I loved the few chapters I rread. I

spent my early years in West Jeddore. My heart is still there aand I long to return.Thaank you for leaving some things to our imagination Some books give too much detail and leave nothing to your imagination. We need more books about Jeddore and the eastern shore. How can I obtain a copy of the book. My brother and sister will be interested as well.

Thank you so much for the information on Malay Falls. I have tried different websites on Nova Scotia and a genealogical one too. No one had an answer for me.

Now I wish I could find information on my ancestors. Edward Malay who came from Ireland with his wife Bridget. He was born in Ireland circa 1830 and lived in NS for awhile until he moved to Pennsylvania, USA. Now this would be wishful thinking!

I inadvertently typed an NB last time. I live in North Carolina, USA I would love to visit in NS someday. The pictures I see of it are breathtaking!

My maiden name is Malay. I live in the USA. Can some one tell me how Malay Falls got its name? I would be interested to know if it was named after a family named Malay.

Tue Sep 26, 2000
Stokesdale is my hometown.
Editor's Note - Malay Falls is a settlement on the East River of Sheet Harbour about 6 miles north. It was named after a family of Malays who were early settlers. Colin R. Malay obtained possession of 5 1/2 acres (1780's). Malay Falls is now the site of a dam and electric power plant. Source: Public Archives "Place Names and Places of NS"

Nice to see that this site is alive and well with a new vision. My wife Marlene and I just recently left Moser River (July, 2000) to settle in Saint John, NB.
We're now overlooking the Bay of Fundy and enjoying the ever changing scenery from our back yard as the sea going ships enter and leave the harbour daily.
May the peace of Christ be with you always.
