The
Ocean Breezes Interpretation Centre is hosting the 250th, Anniversary
Celebrations of Lawrencetown, Halifax County, N.S. with a three-day
event being held at the Lawrencetown Community Centre, located on the
207 Highway in Lawrencetown
(See * Display Details)
June 10th, 2004:
4 p.m: Official Opening Ceremonies
7 p.m: "School's Out" a play especially written for
the occasion will be presented by Atlantic View Elementary School students
at the Good Shepherd Church, next door to the Lawrencetown Community
Centre

Displays Open to the Public
June 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.
June 11th, 2004: Lawrencetown Community Centre
will be open to the public from 9:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. for viewing of
displays.
June 12th, 2004:
10:00 Historical Parade commencing at the Lawrencetown Fire Station
on the 207 Highway, proceeding eastward to the Lawrencetown Community
Centre
(note: Lawrencetown Community Centre will remain closed until around
noon)
12:p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Lawrencetown Community Centre Open to Public
4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Roast Beef Supper hosted by Calvin United Church-Call

9 p.m. Old Tyme Dance with the Noble Cribby Band at the Lawrencetown
Community Centre.

Centre Displays
Displays depict the heritage and natural history of our area, including:
Shearwater Aviation Museum with displays of pertinent information
regarding the plane crashes in our area, etc.
Canada Customs & Excise with a "moonshine still"
Maritime Museum of the Atlantic
Canada Trail consisting of the Salt Marsh Trail, Atlantic View Trail
& the Blueberry Run all part of the old Musquodoboit Railway
of the Lawrencetown Township Grant
Nova Scotia Museum will provide a display on Mi'kmaw Artifacts
Scouts Canada - Baden Powell Guild will honour the last 35 years
of Scouting as Lawrencetown is celebrating 35 years of Scouting participation
Cole Harbour Rural Heritage Society, Acadian House Museum &
many more
Genealogy - A large genealogy section including "correct"
information on old Lawrencetown Township families including Graham,
Dares, Shaw, Sellars, Kuhn, Green, Crowell/LeslieMacDonald/McDonald,
Conrad/Bissett, Shaw. Some Acadian genealogies will be on site as well.
Genealogical Research - The use of computers for some genealogical
research is necessary, and will be available on site along with an assistant,
for your convenience.
Please Note: Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied
by an adult into the Lawrencetown Community Centre display area.
