This beautifully renovated home is waiting for you to kick back and
enjoy the peace of country living.
The Prospector's Cottage is located on Highway 7 within walking
distance to Moser River village center.
It is ideally suited as your 'first home', your home base, while
you find your ideal permanent place to settle along the Eastern
Shore. While living in comfort at the Prospector's Cottage, you
will meet your future neighbours, experience the seasons in our
temperate climate and explore the scenic highways, byways and coastlines
nearby.
In the 1800's, this 150 year old property once belonged to the first
village blacksmith. Towards the turn of the century, the home was
owned by a carpenter who lovingly created furniture, coffins and
the like from local spruce or hardwood.
More recently, the tranquil cottage on the hill was owned by a prospector
who offered panning excursions to the many ore rich deposits along
this stretch of 'the Gold Coast'.
Come hike our trails and spend some time to enjoy our natural surroundings,
history, culture and friendly people will invite you to linger...
just a little longer.

The Bay of Islands region has one of the most spectacular shorelines
along the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia on the Atlantic Ocean. Known
as 'the gold coast' for its gold mining, the area boasts an archipelago
of islands extending as far as the eye can see. Secluded ocean beaches,
hiking trails and inland lakes and rivers make this a paradise for
those who love to explore a variety of delightful eco-climates.
Miles of forest trails, lakes, rivers, estuaries, headlands and
islands, shelteredl coves and bigger harbours all await your discovery.
The Bay of Islands is 1/2 way between Halifax and Antigonish/Canso
on the Eastern Shore's Marine Drive. It is ideal for anyone
wanting peace and quiet near the ocean.
The Bay of Islands is well known to kayakers who follow pre-mapped
trails around the hundreds of offshore islands. The area is excellent
for many outdoor adventures, including swimming, beachcombing, canoeing,
hiking, bicycling, bird watching and cross-country skiing.
Fine dining and regional attractions can be found at Salmon River,
Sheet Harbour, Liscombe Trails and Historic Sherbrooke Village.
